Today, 19 September 2026, at the Transcorp Hilton Abuja, the GOTNI Leadership Centre honoured the Honourable Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, fsi, with the prestigious Excellence in Leadership Award at the 2-Day National Conference on Leadership 2026.
The Honourable Minister was represented by her Special Assistant (Technical) and Community Engagement, who also serves as Chairman, Governing Council of the Maryam Babangida National Centre for Women Development (MBNCWD).
The award recognises her leadership focused on innovation, inclusion, human capital development and measurable social impact. Under her leadership, the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development continues to advance the wellbeing and economic empowerment of women, children, families and vulnerable persons through initiatives including, expanding access to skills, enterprise, social protection and economic opportunities.
The Ministry also remains committed to child protection, combating gender-based violence, survivor-centred services and stronger social development systems, reflecting a practical, coordinated and people-centred approach to national development.
