The Executive Chairman of Ishielu Local Government Area, Mrs. Peace Agwu, has formally obtained the All Progressives Congress (APC) expression of interest and nomination forms to contest for a second term in office.
Agwu picked the forms at the APC State Secretariat in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State on Wednesday, amid a large turnout of party supporters and faithful who gathered to demonstrate solidarity and support for her re-election bid.
Speaking with journalists shortly after collecting the forms, Agwu expressed profound gratitude to God, describing the occasion as a moment of joy, thanksgiving, and renewed commitment to public service.
“I feel very excited. I thank the Heavenly Father, the Maker of heaven and earth, who made it possible for me to obtain the chairmanship form today,” she said.
She also commended the leadership of the APC in the state, particularly Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, for providing what she described as an enabling environment and platform to serve the people of Ishielu Local Government Area.
Responding to questions on the ₦30 million cost of the nomination form, Agwu attributed the feat to divine intervention, noting that God made provisions where it seemed impossible.
“I want to thank the God of heaven who made the way where it was not possible. He is the one who made it available for me,” she stated.
Outlining her vision for a second term, the council chairman assured residents of Ishielu LGA of improved governance and greater developmental impact if re-elected.
“By the grace of God Almighty, there will be a difference in this second term. The Maker of heaven and earth will make that difference to the glory of God and for the benefit of mankind,” Agwu said.
Supporters who accompanied her to the APC Secretariat described her as a dedicated and people-oriented leader, noting that her administration has recorded visible achievements and positively impacted lives across the local government area.
