Amasiri Denies Alleged Plan to Attack Soldiers

By Sharon Akuboh

The peace-loving people of Amasiri have been alerted to a statement circulating in the media alleging that the community is planning to attack Nigerian soldiers currently deployed in Amasiri.
We categorically and unequivocally deny this allegation.

Amasiri has not attacked, attempted to attack, nor planned to attack any soldier or security personnel. We are law-abiding citizens who recognize and respect the constitutional role of security agencies.

We are deeply concerned that unverified voice recordings circulating on social media are being used to generalize criminal intent to an entire community again without verification.

Anonymous audio clips do not constitute proof, and we call for independent forensic verification of any such materials.
We respectfully urge the Government of Ebonyi State under Governor Francis Nwifuru and all security agencies to rely strictly on verified intelligence and professional rules of engagement.

Let it be on record:
Amasiri has not thrown pebbles at the soldiers — not to talk of planning an attack.

If any individual is found to be involved in unlawful conduct, such matters should be addressed individually in accordance with the law — not attributed collectively to Amasiri.

We reaffirm our commitment to peace, lawful engagement, and cooperation with security authorities.
We call on all parties to avoid inflammatory rhetoric and actions capable of escalating tensions.

Peace remains our position. And Peace it shall be.
