The Ebonyi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has warned party members against engaging in anti-party activities, declaring that it will not hesitate to replace candidates and officials whose actions threaten the unity and electoral chances of the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The warning was given on Tuesday during a stakeholders’ meeting attended by party leaders and government officials, where members were urged to remain loyal to the party and support all candidates that emerged from the recently concluded primaries.

Speaking at the meeting, party chairman said Okoro Emegha said the APC was closely monitoring the activities of some councillorship candidates and party officials allegedly involved in anti-party conduct, stressing that the party would exercise its constitutional powers to substitute candidates where necessary.

They maintained that the party would not allow individuals working against its interests to fly its flag during the elections, insisting that such actions could sabotage the APC’s chances at the polls.

Representing Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, the Deputy Governor, Princess Patricia Obila, congratulated party members for what she described as the peaceful and transparent conduct of the party primaries across the state.

She commended party faithful for demonstrating maturity and unity throughout the exercise, noting that the peaceful process reflected the prevailing atmosphere of peace in Ebonyi State.

Obila also urged members to intensify the ongoing voter registration exercise, describing it as crucial to increasing the state’s voting strength and enhancing its opportunities in national planning and resource allocation.

She encouraged every party member to mobilise at least 10 eligible persons to register before the deadline, emphasizing that voter registration would benefit citizens beyond elections.

The Deputy Governor further appreciated party members for their massive endorsement of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Nwifuru, saying the show of support demonstrated the APC’s growing strength in Ebonyi.

She called on members to close ranks behind all candidates produced by the party, insisting that every APC candidate remained the collective choice of the party and deserved total support.

According to her, the party’s victory in 2027 would depend on unity, discipline and effective mobilisation, urging members not to be distracted by opposition parties or internal disagreements.

She expressed confidence that the APC would retain its dominance in Ebonyi State, maintaining that the achievements of the present administration would remain a strong campaign advantage ahead of the next general elections.
