In order to bring the 25th anniversary of the ECOWAS Parliament to a Close, a football match, was played on Saturday, 6th December 2025 in Abuja, it drew the curtains marking the 25th anniversary of the ECOWAS Parliament.
Each team comprised parliamentarians, administrative staff, interpreters, interns, and others, participating in a gala match within a festive atmosphere.
The kick-off was performed by the Speaker of the Parliament, Hon. Hadja Mémounatou Ibrahima. Whose side Team Green, won the male football duet, female and Volley ball proving that her tenure and reign is blessed.
It was indeed more than just a match, this event symbolized the spirit of cohesion that the parliamentary institution promoted for a quarter of a century.
It was a combo of friendship, team spirit, unity, resilience to end all forms of unrest in the sub region. I saw togetherness and raw sporting talents. Congratulations to the Amazon the Speaker of the Parliament your reign will continue to be seamless, the Members of Parliament and all the members and staff of the Parliament and to our own darling JCI Senator Uche Duru.
Un match de football a clos les activités du 25e anniversaire du Parlement de la CEDEAO
Un match de football, joué le samedi 06 décembre 2025 à Abuja, a clos les activités célébrant le 25e anniversaire du Parlement de la CEDEAO.
Dans chaque équipe, se trouvaient députés, personnel admiratif, interprètes, stagiaires… pour un match de gala dans une ambiance festive dont le coup d’envoi a été donné par la présidente du Parlement, Hon. Hadja Mémounatou Ibrahima.
Bien plus qu’un simple match, cet événement symbolise l’esprit de cohésion que l’institution parlementaire promeut depuis un quart de siècle.
