2023 Elections: Not participating in the elections will attract the judgement of God – Clergy

Members of the United Methodist Church UMC have been urge to participate fully in the forth coming elections.
The Director Connectional Ministries United Methodist Church UMC, Rev. Dr. Micah Dopah stated this while delivering his address at the 40th Annual Conference Session, held in Zing District, Zing Local Government.

“2023 Elections, I call for total participation in all elections, for not participating in all elections for whatever reason will attract the judgement of God and is tantamount to assuming the position of sales out.
“As Church, we condemnation Muslim – Muslim ticket, let us do everything possible to defeat Muslim – Muslim ticket. Our youths must avoid political thuggery and play healthy politics. Hurting your brother because of party differences is evil, because PDP, APC, SDP, APGA, APM and Labour party are not in the Bible, watch out.

He used the forum to call on both State and Federal Governments to ensure adequate compensation of all Tarabans and Nigerians who lost their food crops during the farming season as a result of the activities of herders/ farmers crisis.
“Also let there be deliberate plan to rebuild and resettle all victims of flood disaster in our respective Local Government Areas and the federation.
He appealed to both State and Federal Governments to prevail on the Security operatives to ensure total peace and stability before, during and after the elections.
“I want to use this opportunity to appreciate Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku for being a Peace Advocate and for providing platform for religious activities in the state.
In his message, the Guest Speaker, Rev. Isaac Dakuru describe Holiness as being close, living, obedient and working for God and living Holy like God.
He title his message: Holy Leaving and took his scripture reading from the book of Hebrew 12:14, Mathew 5:8,5:48, Isiah 35:8, 1peter 2:9
“Come close to God, be sure of your level of Holiness, so that anytime Jesus comes, you will go with him.
“You cannot be Holy when you are wicked,Zing murderer or anything contrary to the will of God.
Stand firm and allow the Spirit of God to use you.
He pointed out that obeying leaders is obeying God, while disobeying leaders is disobeying God.
On his part, the Lay Leader, Hon. Dennis Laye Yasso, commend the leader, Rev. Dr. Philip Micah Dopah and Members of his cabinet for standing by him.
“Rev. Dr. Philip Micah Dopah is indeed a contemporary leader endowed with leadership qualities worth of emulation.
There were good will messages from various personalities at the conference whom include, the PDP Flagg bearer, Lt. Col. Kefas Agbu, Caretaker Chairman, Jalingo Local Government Council, Aminu Jauro Hassan, Rev. Daniel Zading, Chairman, Lau Local Government and HRH Moses Yaruta, Chief of Mbonli Chiefdom, Zing, all emphasize on the need for unity amongst people regardless of their religious and tribal differences.
The theme for this year’s Conference is “Without Holiness, no one will see God, Heb.12:14b.
The conference featured songs from Women, Choir groups amongst others.
