The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of El-Amin International School has celebrated the 2026 World Teachers’ Day by presenting gift items to both academic and non-academic staff of the school.

Speaking during the presentation, Chairman of the PTA, Prince Daniel Atori, accompanied by members of the Executive Council, said the gesture was aimed at recognising and appreciating the invaluable contributions of teachers to human and national development.

Atori, while reflecting on the 2026 World Teachers’ Day theme, “Standing with Teachers: 60 Years of Protecting the Profession, Advancing its Status and Shaping Our Futures,” assured the staff that the PTA would sustain the annual gesture.

He described teachers as critical to the development of responsible citizens and a better society, stressing that the PTA regarded them as important stakeholders in the education of children.

According to him, “Teachers are the group that train children to become responsible individuals in life. Once they get it right, the society becomes better. That is why we, as a body, decided to celebrate and appreciate them.

“The PTA is a very strong stakeholder in the affairs of every school and we hold our teachers in high esteem. Teaching is still a noble profession, and we will sustain gestures like this.”

Responding, the Head Teacher of the school, Mrs. Abimbola Poopola, appreciated the PTA for the gesture, assuring that the school would continue to do everything possible to provide a conducive learning environment and ensure that pupils receive the best in academics and character development.

She noted that the growth and development of every child depended largely on having teachers who are physically, mentally, professionally and psychologically prepared for the demands of the profession.

Poopola said, “We commend the PTA for this show of love and for reminding us that the growth and development of every child is dependent on manpower that is physically, mentally, professionally and psychologically sound.

“All of these cannot be achieved without the noble teaching profession, and we are doing our best to groom and build the future of our children.”

The colourful event also featured pupils decorating and celebrating members of staff. The gift items presented by the PTA included bags of rice and cartons of tomato paste.
