KEN Eze the Senator representing Ebonyi Central Senatorial zone and Chairman Senate Committee on Information and National Orientation, has called for the introduction of unemployment scheme and internship service for the teeming unemployed graduates in Nigeria.
The scheme he said would address the danger of massive youth unemployment in the Country.

Senator Engr. Ken Eze who is also the Vice Chairman Senate Committee on South East Development Commission made the call on the floor of the Nigeria Senate, while presenting a Bill during the Senate plenary.
He noted that the high rate of graduate unemployment in Nigeria as very pathetic and unfortunate, lamented over a situation where many graduates struggled from a very poor family background to acquire education only to be roaming the streets jobless after several years of graduation, adding that most of the unemployed graduates in such condition are so impoverished that some of them are already developing psychological problem and have lost hope and sense of belonging to the system.
He cited a particular case of one University First Class graduate who wondered in search of job for many years without success until he unfortunately became unemployable by age but introducing the scheme would help to address such a thing.
The Federal lawmaker maintained that the high level of graduates unemployment in the County has reached alarming stage and appealed that it should no longer be a matter to be tackled until when there is enabling environment, rather it should be a matter of great concern and worry to Nigeria government.
The Senator opinion that if the Country can provide NYSC scheme for the young graduates, same programme could as well be extended to cover unemployment scheme and internship service for the jobless old graduates.
