The All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives candidate for Lavun, Edati and Mokwa Federal Constituency, Hon. Adamu Sulaiman Kpautagi, has reaffirmed his commitment to preserving the cultural heritage and promoting community development as he identified with the people of Rugan-Chibo during their annual Gani Festival in Lavun Local Government Area of Niger State.
The colourful celebration, held in Rugan-Chibo via Kutigi, attracted traditional rulers, political stakeholders, youths, women and indigenes of the community, who gathered to celebrate and showcase their rich cultural heritage.

Hon. Kpautagi was represented at the event by his Director-General of Campaign, Alhaji Sani Abbas, who conveyed his goodwill and support to the community. Addressing the gathering, Alhaji Abbas described the Gani Festival as an important cultural institution that promotes unity, strengthens community bonds and preserves the historical identity of the Nupe people.
He noted that Hon. Kpautagi’s participation demonstrated his respect for the traditions of the people and his determination to remain connected with the communities he aspires to represent.
As part of his support for the celebration, Hon. Kpautagi made a donation to the Rugan-Chibo Gani Festival Committee to support the successful organisation of the event. He also assured the people that, if elected to represent the constituency at the National Assembly in 2027, he would pursue people-oriented federal projects and initiatives aimed at improving the lives and livelihoods of his constituents.
Earlier, the Ward Head of Rugan-Chibo, Alhaji Aliyu Babirajo, welcomed the delegation and expressed appreciation to Hon. Kpautagi and other guests for identifying with the community during the cultural celebration.
Members of the Kpautagi delegation included Hon. Hussaini Usman (Mallawu), Lavun Coordinator; Hon. Idris T. Mohammed, Edati Coordinator; Hon. Yakubu Sani Abdullahi, Mokwa Coordinator; and Alhaji Haruna Ibrahim Gbarigi, Member of the Kpautagi Advisory Committee, among others.
The festival featured cultural drama, musical performances, traditional songs by local artists and goodwill messages, all of which showcased the history, bravery, unity and cultural identity of the Rugan-Chibo community.
