NIS DG Shaibu Felicitates With Nigerian Muslim Ummah at Maulud

The Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the National Institute for Sports, NIS, Comrade Philip Shaibu, has felicitated with the Nigerian Muslim Ummah on the occasion of this year’s Maulud celebration.

The CEO of NIS celebrated with Muslim faithful across the country as they mark the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW). He described the event as a moment for sober reflection, unity and devotion to the teachings of Islam.

Shaibu urged the Muslim Ummah to use the celebration to pray for the peace and progress of Nigeria. He said the country needs collective prayers and commitment from all citizens to achieve sustainable development.

The NIS boss also called on Muslims to dedicate prayers for security and stability in the nation. He noted that peaceful coexistence remains vital for the growth of sports, youth development and other sectors of the economy.

Maulud is an annual event observed by Muslims in Nigeria and across the world to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW). The celebration is marked with prayers, charity and teachings on the life and virtues of the Prophet.

Shaibu reaffirmed the commitment of the National Institute for Sports to promoting national unity through sports. He assured that the institute will continue to use sports as a veritable tool to foster harmony among Nigerians irrespective of religious or ethnic affiliations.
