Hope Raisers Global Foundation (HRGF) has successfully concluded its Summer Splash 2026 AI STEM Education Project, a four-week intensive learning programme designed to equip children with practical knowledge and problem-solving skills in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
The annual programme of Hope Raisers Global Foundation commenced on a light and engaging note with the collation of the children’s demographic data, introduction of facilitators and a detailed outline of activities for the season.
The four-week programme was carefully structured around practical and relevant themes designed to help children connect classroom learning with everyday life.
The weekly themes included:
Week One: Science for Survival
Week Two: Mathematics Helps You Make Smart Decisions
Week Three: Engineering for Real Life
Week Four: Technology and AI – Technology Is Yours.
The Summer Splash 2026 AI STEM Education Project brought together a committed team of facilitators and support personnel who guided the children throughout the programme.
The team included Aminat Ojodu, Programme Coordinator and Anchor; Mrs Joy Oladimeji Salami, PhD, Science Facilitator; Grace Udie, Assistant Science Facilitator; Mrs Faith Reinhard, Mathematics Facilitator; Comfort Adams, Assistant Mathematics Facilitator; Moses Adunoye, Engineering Facilitator; Peace Eli, Timekeeper and Administrative Support; Mrs Adanna Blessing, Safeguarding Lead; and Barr Cynthia Igoh, who provided support in reporting and administration.
The project was implemented in collaboration with several partners, including Technology 4 All, Enitan Growth Hub Foundation, Tech Herfrica, Loose 2 Dance and Tu2Minis Place.
Speaking on the importance of practical learning, the organisers emphasized the belief that children learn best when they are able to see, experience and actively participate in the learning process.
In the science sessions, the children took part in practical experiments ranging from water filtration to demonstrations on effective ways of keeping germs out of their bodies and environment.
The mathematics sessions moved beyond numbers on paper, demonstrating practical ways mathematics can be applied in everyday decision-making. The children explored how mathematics can help with planning daily activities, calculating income, making financial decisions and preparing budgets.
During the engineering week, participants were introduced to the mindset of builders and problem-solvers. They explored how engineering principles can contribute to addressing real-life challenges such as housing deficits and environmental degradation. Through practical learning, the children gained exposure to concepts surrounding the construction of roofs, bridges and walkways.
Technology and Artificial Intelligence formed a major part of the final week of the programme. Through hands-on group sessions, the children maximised the use of laptops provided by the programme’s technology partners. They were introduced to AI tools and encouraged to think critically about the challenges within their environment and how technology could be used to develop possible solutions.
Founder of Hope Raisers Global Foundation, Amb. Angonimi David-Imeh, expressed her appreciation to the children for their intensive participation and commitment throughout the four-week programme.
She also extended heartfelt appreciation to the facilitators, collaborators and partners whose contributions helped make the Summer Splash 2026 AI STEM Education Project a success.
The programme came to a memorable conclusion with a colourful closing ceremony, where the children showcased their creativity and talents through a series of dance performances and dramatic presentations highlighting some of the challenges faced in Nigeria.
A total of 80 students were presented with Certificates of Participation in recognition of their successful completion of the programme. Some facilitators were also recognised and honoured for their outstanding performance and long-standing commitment to the work of empowering children and communities.
The presentation of certificates and awards was carried out by Ms Esohe Ekunwe, Director at Tech Herfrica, alongside Mr David Michael, Director at Hope Raisers Global Foundation.
The closing ceremony was a celebration of four weeks of learning, innovation, creativity and collaboration. Beyond the certificates, the Summer Splash 2026 AI STEM Education Project provided participating children with an opportunity to see themselves not merely as learners, but as future innovators, problem-solvers and contributors to the development of their communities.
Through initiatives such as Summer Splash, Hope Raisers Global Foundation continues to demonstrate its commitment to providing inclusive learning opportunities and empowering children, particularly those within underserved communities, with the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to thrive in an increasingly technology-driven world.
As the curtains closed on the 2026 edition, the message remained clear: the future belongs to children who are given the opportunity to learn, innovate, think critically and believe that technology is theirs too.
