Afrobeats superstar and Osun State indigene, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has called for peace and calm as voters in Osun State head to the polls, urging citizens to shun violence and intimidation.
Davido, in a message ahead of the election, said: “We have won it twice; we will do it again,” while rallying his supporters to remain focused and peaceful throughout the electoral process.
The music star also urged voters to resist intimidation from any quarter, stressing that every citizen should be allowed to freely exercise their democratic rights without fear or coercion.
“I call for calm and peace. Resist intimidation of any source,” Davido said, as political activities intensify across the state ahead of the crucial poll.
With tensions expected to remain high as voting gets underway, Davido’s message has added his voice to growing calls for a peaceful election, urging the people of Osun to protect the democratic process and allow the will of the electorate to prevail.
