The Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), the pet project of the First Lady of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu, has launched the Flow With Confidence project in Kogi State with the distribution of 10,000 sanitary pads to schoolgirls across the 21 Local Government Areas of the state.
Speaking at the ceremony in Lokoja, the First Lady said the initiative is aimed at promoting menstrual hygiene and supporting young girls, particularly those in rural communities, with access to sanitary products so they can stay in school without interruption.
Senator Tinubu explained that the programme is being implemented nationwide through the Renewed Hope Initiative, with 370,000 sanitary pads set to be distributed across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
She emphasized that no girl should miss school because of lack of sanitary products, noting that the intervention is designed to ensure girls can manage their menstrual health with dignity, confidence and pride while pursuing their education.
