The South East Elders and Youths Alliance for Tinubu (SEEYAT ’27) has called for continued constructive engagement between the South-East and the Federal Government, saying dialogue remains important to advancing regional interests.
The alliance made the call in its reaction to Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s efforts to build a stronger working relationship between Anambra State and the Federal Government.
According to SEEYAT ’27, cooperation between the region and the government at the centre could provide greater opportunities for the people of the South-East.
The group said its position was rooted in the belief that the region would benefit from meaningful political engagement rather than isolation from national governance processes.
It cited the political legacy of the late Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, saying the former nationalist advocated active Igbo participation and integration in national politics and governance.
SEEYAT ’27 said Governor Soludo’s approach provided an opportunity for increased dialogue and cooperation between Anambra and the Federal Government.
The alliance also offered to partner with the Anambra State Government and other stakeholders in promoting stronger South-East participation in national affairs.
It said such engagement would be particularly relevant as political parties and groups prepare for the 2027 elections.
SEEYAT ’27 said it would continue to support initiatives aimed at promoting inclusion, cooperation and meaningful engagement between the South-East and other parts of Nigeria.
