A coalition of two non-governmental organisations, the Anti-Kidnapping, Human Trafficking, Child Abuse and Drug Abuse (AKH-TRACADA) and the Society for the Reconciliation of Nigerians in Diaspora (SORENID), has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office.
The groups said their decision followed an independent assessment of the administration’s performance, particularly in the areas of economic reforms, national security, infrastructure development and institutional renewal.

In a joint statement issued in Abuja and signed by the Founder/National Coordinator of AKH-TRACADA, Primate Belownu Ezeanyaeche, and the Chief Coordinating Officer of SORENID, Sir Uche Okafor, the organisations said Nigeria requires continuity and purposeful leadership to consolidate ongoing reforms.
The coalition said President Tinubu had demonstrated the political will to take difficult decisions aimed at repositioning the economy and laying the foundation for sustainable growth.
Economic Reforms
According to the organisations, the administration has introduced a number of measures aimed at transforming the Nigerian economy, including exchange-rate reforms, fiscal restructuring, investment incentives and policies designed to strengthen domestic production.
While acknowledging that more needs to be done to ensure that economic growth translates into improved living standards for Nigerians, the coalition highlighted recent economic performance as evidence of progress.
It cited real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth of 4.07 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2025 and 3.89 per cent in the first quarter of 2026.
The groups also pointed to the government’s new deep-water oil and gas investment framework, describing it as a development that could unlock fresh investment and strengthen Nigeria’s position in the global energy market.
The coalition maintained that these measures were helping to create the foundation for a more productive, competitive and investment-friendly economy.
Security and National Stability
On national security, AKH-TRACADA and SORENID commended efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s security architecture and enhance the capacity of the armed forces and paramilitary organisations.
The groups specifically referenced the reported expansion of the Nigerian Army from eight to 12 divisions, alongside the recruitment of additional personnel and increased investment in equipment and troop welfare.
According to the coalition, such measures demonstrate a renewed commitment to tackling terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and other threats confronting the country.
It also cited the reported rescue of more than 300 abducted Nigerians in a coordinated security operation in August 2026 as evidence of improved intelligence-led operations.
The organisations, however, stressed that security efforts must be sustained and strengthened to achieve lasting results.
Call for Continuity
The coalition said its endorsement was based on its conviction that the reforms currently underway require continuity to achieve their full potential.
It urged Nigerians to consider the long-term direction of the country, arguing that Nigeria needs policies capable of creating jobs, attracting investment, strengthening national security, improving infrastructure and building institutions that can deliver sustainable prosperity.
“President Tinubu has demonstrated the political will to undertake difficult reforms and the determination to confront longstanding national challenges,” the groups said.
They therefore formally endorsed the President for a second term and called on Nigerians to support what they described as the continuation and consolidation of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The coalition further appealed to Nigerians to support President Tinubu’s second-term bid, saying the country needs stability, continuity and purposeful leadership to move forward.
It concluded that President Tinubu possesses the experience, determination and reform agenda required to consolidate the administration’s ongoing programmes and advance national development.
