Tinubu Commissions 10 Housing Units for Federal High Court Judges in Abuja

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commissioned 10 newly constructed residential housing units for judges of the Federal High Court in Katampe District, Abuja.

During the occasion, President Tinubu represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima described the project as a strategic investment in judicial independence and a fulfillment of promise made.

According to him, the provision of quality housing for judicial officers goes beyond infrastructure development, stressing that it is a critical step toward ensuring the dignity, security, and independence of the judiciary.

“We are here not just to commission buildings but to fortify a vital pillar of our democracy, the judiciary.When we embarked on the Renewed Hope Agenda, we made a sacred covenant with the Nigerian people.

“We promised to revive our institutional trust, secure our nation, and ensure that the rule of law is never compromised nor delayed. Today, with the official commissioning of these 10 housing units for judges of the Federal High Court, we are taking a definitive physical step towards fulfilling that promise.”

The President also commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Mr Nyesom Wike, for his commitment to infrastructure development and timely project delivery.

Speaking at the event, FCT Minister, Mr Nyesom Wike revealed that similar residential facilities for judges of the Court of Appeal were commissioned a day earlier, while another 22-unit housing project for judges of the FCT High Court is scheduled for commissioning next month.

“‎Yesterday, we commissioned the 10 justice quarters for the Court of Appeal. Today, we are here for the Federal High Court. July 7th, the same Way, we will be doing that for the FCT High Court, with a total of 22 Unit housing “

Also speaking, the Minister of State for the FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, described the judges’ quarters as a significant investment in the administration of justice and the consolidation of Nigeria’s democratic institutions.

She expressed optimism that the newly inaugurated judges’ quarters would provide a conducive living environment for judicial officers, strengthen the justice delivery system, and stand as enduring symbols of a government committed to institutional excellence and the rule of law.

The commissioning of the Federal High Court Judges’ Quarters is part of a series of infrastructure projects being executed by the FCT Administration to improve public institutions and support the effective functioning of critical arms of government.
