The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement, South-East, Barr. Mrs Chioma Nweze, has called on people of the South-East, particularly women, to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in the 2027 presidential election.
Nweze made the call after accompanying the Minister of Works, Engr. David Nweze Umahi, on an inspection visit to ongoing Federal Government legacy projects in Ebonyi State.
The projects inspected included sections of the Calabar-Ebonyi-Benue-Kogi-Nasarawa-Abuja Trans-Sahara Superhighway, which she said would have significant implications for connectivity and economic activities across the region and the country.
According to her, such inspection visits were important because they enabled government officials to assess the progress of projects and understand their impact on communities.
Nweze said, as the President’s aide responsible for community engagement in the South-East, she considered it important to connect government policies and programmes with the realities and needs of people at the grassroots.
She also stressed the need for continuity in governance, saying several programmes and projects initiated by the Tinubu administration were ongoing and required sustained implementation to achieve their full impact.
She cited the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), road construction projects and investments in healthcare infrastructure as some of the interventions she said were providing opportunities and improving services for Nigerians.
“Development does not happen overnight. Roads being constructed today will serve our people for many years. Investments in education will create opportunities for young Nigerians. Improved healthcare infrastructure will benefit our communities for generations,” she said.
Nweze urged Nigerians, particularly women in the South-East, to remain discerning and pay attention to programmes and projects that directly affect their lives, calling for support for continuity in the 2027 election.
“Our collective goal should be a stronger, more prosperous and better-connected Nigeria,” she said.
