RT Hon Francis Nwifuru, the Governor of Ebonyi State, has approved the payment of 75, 000 Naira minimum wage to Civil Servants in the State with effect from Monday, October 28, 2024, meaning the workers in the state can go home smiling this month.
Governor Nwifuru announced on Sunday at Government House Chapel, Abakaliki. This is really cheering news. As the action hard working governor of the State has lifted the morale of workers in the State.
The governor explained that the decision followed careful review of the current economic situation in the country, especially as it affects the workforce.
He noted that the least paid Civil Servant on grade level 2 will enjoy a full minimum wage of 75, 000 while from grade level 3 and above, he will get an incremental of 40, 000 across the board.
The governor said that implementation of the new minimum wage would commence on Monday, October 28, 2024.
