A civil society organization, Odinma Ebonyi Foundation, ODEF is in receipt of information from the Chairman of Afikpo Local Government Area, Engr. Nwachi Timothy A.U directing all the Development Centre Coordinators in the area to submit comprehensive reports of interventions so far carried out in the 8 months of their appointment.
A source close to the Council Chairman revealed this to the group on Saturday. We have carried out discreet findings to ascertain the veracity of the information.
This is true.
There is no gain contending that this move underlies the Local Government Chairman’s Commitment to Accountability and Transparency in Public Service.
ODEF— an advocate for good governance and transparency in Ala-Ebonyi, commends the proactive leadership of the Chairman for his recent demand for— a comprehensive progress report from the Development Centre Coordinator, specifically on infrastructure, human capital development, health —and the status of schools within the area especially as schools resume for the first term in few days.
The Chairman’s request for detailed updates, including— the names and number of schools, reflects his dedication to ensuring that public resources are effectively utilized and —that key developmental projects, particularly in education, are meeting their objectives.
By seeking a thorough account of the activities and progress made in improving educational infrastructure and services, —the Chairman demonstrates a strong commitment to promoting transparency, accountability, and better service delivery for the benefit of all Afikpoans.
