Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, on Tuesday presented a ₦884.8 billion “Budget of Actualisation and Hope” to the State House of Assembly, outlining an ambitious plan driven largely by infrastructure and human capital investment.
Speaking at the Assembly complex in Abakaliki, Nwifuru said the budget anchored on the People’s Charter of Needs marks Ebonyi’s transition from “survival to recovery and now to consolidation.”

He noted that his administration had cleared inherited pension arrears and liabilities, restoring the dignity of thousands of retirees.
The 2026 proposal allocates ₦749.4bn (84.7%) to capital projects, the highest in the state’s history, with the economic sector receiving the largest share.
The governor highlighted progress made in 2025, including the establishment of two new universities, expansion of health services, major infrastructure upgrades, and the revival of key agricultural and industrial projects.
Nwifuru urged lawmakers to fast-track passage of the budget, expressing confidence that it would accelerate economic growth and improve living standards across the state.
