Former Minister of State for Health, Engr. Fidelix Nwankwo, on Friday, expressed confidence that the presidential candidate of the NDC, Peter Obi, would emerge victorious in the 2027 general election.
Nwankwo stated that Obi’s victory in the forthcoming election would not be “taken away again,” alleging that the former Anambra State governor was denied victory during the 2023 presidential election.

The former Chairman of Izzi Local Government Area in Ebonyi State stated that Nigerian youths and women, frustrated by hardship and poor governance in the country, were determined to vote and protect their votes in the next election.
The NDC chieftain in Ebonyi State made the remarks while speaking to journalists during the party’s primary election held across the 13 local government areas.
According to him, the exercise was aimed at producing candidates for various elective positions ahead of the elections.
“What we are doing today is to organise primary elections to pick candidates who will contest various positions, starting from the President, Governor, Senate and House of Representatives, among others,” he said.
Speaking on the party’s prospects, Nwankwo said the NDC, despite being relatively new, was enjoying massive support from Nigerians across the country.
“The way our party is preparing to win elections, we are a relatively new party, and I think we are enjoying unusual and massive support from Nigerians. Nigerians are seeing NDC as a party that has come to save them and protect the country,” he stated.
He further attributed the growing support for the party to the personality of the presidential aspirant, describing him as a humane and credible leader capable of transforming Nigeria.
“The country is yearning for good leadership. The man at the top of the leadership pyramid is the man who will save the country and its citizens. Many Nigerians believe he was robbed in 2023, and this time around, the youths have vowed that such a mistake will not be repeated. They will vote and ensure that their votes count,” Nwankwo added.
