Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has unveiled an empowerment scheme initiated by House of Representatives member representing Fagge constituency, Barr. Muhammad Bello Shehu.

The Empowerment was held at Coronation Hall, Government House, Kano.
The governor commended the member for his tireless efforts of empowering teeming youth in his constituency, a move that will bolster the economic status of the beneficiaries and uplift the socioeconomic position of the state.

Governor Yusuf who spoke at length on the state government’s effort of reviving all the 26 entrepreneurship skills institutes in the state abandoned by the immediate past administration aimed at making youth self-reliant and reduce dependency on white collar jobs.
He acknowledged the contributions of Fagge people in running of the present government and pledged more opportunities for them in that direction.

In his presentation, Barr. Shehu said the empowerment project was part of campaign promises fulfillment made to the electorate of his constituency that targeted 3000 beneficiaries from ten wards of the local government.
He urged the beneficiaries to judiciously utilise what was given to them to achieve the set goals.
In his remarks, Former Commissioner of Finance and current Chairman, Kano State Local Government Service Commission, Dr. Ibrahim Jibril Fagge assured the support of people of area to the present administration under the leadership of Governor Yusuf.
The empowerment scheme comprises of N50,000 as start up capital to 1500 people, five cars, 100 motorcycles (people with disability included), 100 modern embroidery machines,100 mechanic tools and 100 Freezers.
Other equipments include 250 mechanic boxes, six laptop computers, two photo cameras, 50 generators, 50 welding machines, 22 Offers of appointment at Federal University, Dutsinma and recruitment into Nigeria Police (28 slots), and Nigerian Navy (1 slot).
