The official FLAG-OFF CAMPAIGN of Jakadiya LADI BALA took place today November 11th, 2023, at the Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Abuja Council, Utako. The event attracted great turnout of journalists of note and worth, including three past presidents; Chief Moji Makanjuola, Pst Kande Daniel and Rtn Amb Evelyn Onyilo who came out to identify and give their unwavering support to the Conqueror, the Visioner, the Champion, the phenomenal Amazon, a Great Leader of NAWOJ – LADI BALA.
The Chairperson of Plateau NAWOJ, ably represented the National Coordinator of LADI BALA Campaigns, Nene Dung, expressed appreciation to journalists that attended the event and charged members to stand for truth, growth and development of NAWOJ with the understanding that Ladi Bala has proven beyond reasonable doubts to be an exceptional, exemplary leader with the Midas Touch. Mrs Dung therefore, advised all NAWOJians to reelect Ladi Bala as NATIONAL PRESIDENT of NAWOJ.
While unfolding her future plans when reelected, NAWOJ President, Ladi Bala assured that she will pursue and ensure the building of the newly acquired land, establishment of NAWOJ HERVOICE Radio Station to be managed and operated mostly by NAWOJians, continue with capacity trainings, programmes and many more across the country.
Former NAWOJ Presidents, Chief Mrs Moji Makanjuola, Mrs Kande Daniel and Rtn Evelyn Onyilo as well as the NUJ Abuja Chairman Emeritus, Amos Dunia, Comrade Ochiaka Ugwu, The Secretary NUJ Abuja Council, who represented the NUJ Abuja Council Chairman, Mr Patrick Osadebamwen, each took turns to shower encomiums on Ladi Bala.
It was also resolved that all the two FCT contestants, Ladi Bala and Chizoba Ogbeche be voted for massively as FCT is hosting to Win. Also resolved that Helen Udofa incumbent National Secretary be returned while new entrants Mrs Folake Ade-Adeniji, Deputy National President and Internal Auditor, Joyce Daniel to be returned.
The media veterans pleaded and advised Ladi Bala to shun naysayers but, should remain focused to keep taking NAWOJ to greater heights. While unanimously endorsing her second term bid.
Other contestants from differential States in attendance, include the incoming DEPUTY NATIONAL PRESIDENT – Liberator Folake Ade- Adeniji, the amiable articulate NATIONAL SECRETARY – Mrs Helen Udofa, VICE PRESIDENT ZONE D – Mrs Chizoba Ogbeche, Editor Blue Print and Irene Onehi, Ministry of Information Benue State. ZONE D ZONAL SECRETARY – Juliana Ofoku, NATIONAL INTERNAL AUDITOR – Joyce Haruna, and Chairpersons from various FCT NAWOJ, Adamawa, Benue, Plateau, Nasarawa, Niger States in addition to other quintessential journalists. And an array of Past State Chairpersons and National Officers were also in attendance.
