NUJ at 70 : Gov Yusuf hails journalists’ contributions to Democracy

The Kano State governor, Alh Abba Yusuf has hailed the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ. He joined Nigerians to celebrate the land mark giant strides of the Union in the past 7 decades.

According to Gov Yusuf “as we celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), I am delighted to extend my warmest felicitations to the entire NUJ family. The NUJ has played a pivotal role in shaping our nation’s narrative, promoting democracy, and holding those in power accountable.

This was contained in a Statement Signed by the Spokesperson Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Government House Kano.

I commend the leadership of the NUJ, particularly Comrade Alhassan Yahya Abdullahi, for their tireless efforts in upholding the principles of ethical journalism and advocating for the welfare of journalists. The Kano State Government recognizes the critical role of the media in our democracy and is committed to supporting and collaborating with the NUJ to ensure a free and independent press.

As we mark this significant milestone, I urge all journalists to continue to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and objectivity. The Kano State Government will continue to provide a conducive environment for journalists to operate, and we look forward to strengthening our partnership with the NUJ in the years to come.

Once again, congratulations to the NUJ on this remarkable achievement. May the next 70 years be filled with even greater success and accomplishment for the union and its members.
