Isu, Ebonyi State — The Provost of Isu College (Technical), Professor Okey Reuben Okechukwu, has declared an end to the lingering challenge of office accommodation for staff and students, following the official handover of completed Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TetFund) projects by Gossima Construction Company.

Professor Okechukwu made this known during a brief ceremony held at the institution’s premises, where the newly completed facilities were officially handed over to the college management.

“Today, the winnowing cry by the students and staff about office accommodation will be brought to an end. We will start allocating offices to staff and students,” the Provost said. “I’ve always encouraged all of you to be patient. Good things don’t come immediately; development is a gradual process.”
He commended the efforts of the college’s governing council, management team, and Gossima Group, led by Dr. Gideon Osi, for the successful delivery of the projects. However, he urged the construction firm to address some outstanding issues observed in the course of the project.
“I want to thank Gossima Group. You can see that they have done well. But please remember the observations we made so they can be corrected. As we accept this project in confidence, we also want you to return and finish up in that same spirit of confidence,” he added.
Also speaking at the event, Hon. Mario Owonwumi, Acting Chairman representing the Governing Council of Isu College (Technical), expressed satisfaction with the quality of work executed by Gossima Construction Company under the TetFund initiative.
“The contractor, Gossima—my brother and friend—the GOC, his team, the consultants, and the Provost with his management team have done extraordinarily well. Today marks a historic moment,” Owonwumi said.
He described the completed infrastructure as a legacy project that would have a lasting impact on the college and the host community.
“As a council, we are deeply pleased with what we have witnessed today. We are confident that our president, who mandated us to enhance the infrastructure and improve the lives of the Isu community, will be proud,” he concluded.
