The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, Grace Ike, has extended warm felicitations to Muslim faithful in the Federal Capital Territory on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr.

In a statement issued in Abuja, Ike congratulated Muslims on the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan, describing the period as one marked by spiritual reflection, discipline, sacrifice, and devotion to humanity.
She commended the commitment of the faithful during the fasting period, noting that the values demonstrated contribute significantly to peaceful coexistence and social harmony.
The NUJ FCT Chairman urged Muslim journalists and the wider community to sustain the virtues of patience, tolerance, compassion, and generosity imbibed during Ramadan, emphasizing their importance in strengthening unity and national development.
According to her, Eid-el-Fitr provides an opportunity for Nigerians across religious and ethnic divides to embrace unity, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence, adding that the country’s diversity should be harnessed as a tool for growth and cohesion.
Ike also called on citizens to extend acts of kindness to the less privileged, stressing that the celebration should be a period of sharing and empathy.
She further urged leaders at all levels to reflect on the lessons of sacrifice and service associated with Ramadan by promoting inclusive policies, accountability, and the well-being of citizens.
While wishing Muslims a peaceful and joyful celebration, the NUJ FCT Chairman advised residents to celebrate responsibly and in line with public safety guidelines.
She prayed that the season would bring renewed hope, unity, and prosperity to the nation.
