· Congress frowned at the undignified treatment of Nigerians by the South African and Polish Embassies on consular issues especially on visa issuance particularly for prospective students who wait near-endlessly after paying their fees. Congress demanded a review of the ugly trend by the consular sections of these two embassies and urged the Federal Government to address the issue expeditiously.
· Congress frowned at the shambolic conduct of the 2023 general elections enabled by INEC’s failure to adhere to the Electoral Act 2022 and its electoral guidelines as regard the use of BVAS to transmit election results in real time, during the polls.
· Congress resolved that the Governor of the CBN, Mr. Godwin Emefiele and top management of the apex bank be made to answer for their roles in the poor implementation of the cashless policy which has subjected Nigerians to untold hardship.
· Congress called on the FCT Administration and other relevant government agencies to act proactively to prevent floods in the city by clearing all blocked drainages around the city center and its environs, as well as urged citizens to be environmentally conscious and desist from throwing refuse into drainages and at unauthorized places.
· Congress while noting that citizens have the right to protest the outcome of the 2023 polls, however, such protests should be orderly, civil and not disturb public peace. Congress further cautioned politicians to desist from making comments capable of endangering and derailing the country’s democracy.
· Congress commended aggrieved politicians who have approached the courts to seek redress for their perceived grievances during the elections, while urging the court to be fair, justice-blind and be above board.
· Congress called on journalists and media practitioners in general to be professional and objective in reporting post-election issues and in accordance with the ethics of the profession. Members were cautioned to be circumspect and not to play in the hands of unscrupulous politicians.
· Congress also called on the Nigeria Police and other security agencies to respect press freedom and not allow themselves to be used against journalists in the exercise of their constitutional responsibility.
